Fashion runs wild at Orchard
by Lei Jia Hui

THE arrival of the Spring/Summer season - in fashion speak, that is - spells the time for a brand- new look.

And those keen on updating their wardrobes or finding out about the latest hair and make- up trends can look forward to this year's Fashion Season @ Orchard (FSO), which runs from today till May 8.

The annual fashion fiesta, which started last year, will feature a host of exciting events and workshops, as well as shopping and dining promotions.

The fiesta is organised by the Orchard Road Business Association, in partnership with Singapore Press Holdings and MasterCard, and supported by the Singapore Tourism Board.

Among the professionals dishing out fashion and make- up tips at the fiesta is stylist Jerome Awasthi, who has produced and styled fashion shows for international labels like Louis Vuitton, Fendi and Bebe.

Editors from fashion magazines such as Her World and Nuyou will also take you through the Spring/Summer looks.

One of the highlights of the fiesta is a fashion show featuring labels like Singapore's alldressedup, American brand Levi's and Britain-based New Look, which will unveil their Spring/Summer collections.

To be held on April 8, the Orchard Fashion Runway show will see nearly 150 models strut down a 160m-long runway stretching from Ion Orchard to Wisma Atria.

You can also feast your eyes on the window displays of participating stores and vote for your favourite in the Best Fashion Window Display Contest.

Organisers of the fashion festival are giving away $70,000 worth of prizes in the FSO Shop and Win Draw.

With so many events happening in the next six weeks, here's a list to help you plan your schedule ahead.

Happy shopping!
