Demano: Fashionably conscientious

Goodness knows women are into their bags.

But we especially like the philosophy behind this label.

Demano, a Spanish brand that uses upcycled billboard banners as raw materials for making their bags - from totes to messenger slings and shoppers, found a creative and ingenous way to use colourful banners from art and cultural institutions in Barcelona

Looking for a sturdy yet unique bag? Demano might just have what you are looking for!

This spanish brand encourages individuality with a conscience with each upcycled billboard bag limited in edition and one of a kind.

Made from banners from art and cultural institutions in Barcelona, Spain, Designers Liliana Andrade and Marcela Manrique found an interesting yet eco-friendly way to reuse all the temporary festival, arts and museum banners lining the streets of Barcelona.

All Demano bags are made from 100% UV resistant, rip-stop, waterproof, recycled billboard vinyl so you can be assured that they are all heavy-duty.

Combining fashion and sensibility, the reuse of materials as the basis for the production of their bags and accessories, is the heart of Demano's policy.

Where to get them?

Demano bags are retailed at Tangs Dept Store, Playlab, Level 3 (with exclusive models), echo, Wheelock Place #02-12, Outdoor Life, Novena Square Level 2; COCOCLUB, Holland Village #01-05, Totally Hot Stuff, The Cathay, #03-13, www.qi-global.com

Each bag is named after a place in Barcelona and prices range from $89 for a wallet to $159-179 for larger messenger bags. Bags have different fastens such as clip-ons, velco, zips of various shapes and sizes.
