SOS: Save our skin

We catch up with Cindy Cheong, SK-II BC Trainer, Singapore, on expert tips on how to prep skin for a big night out…without reaping the detrimental consequences.

1. Before applying all your makeup, make sure skin is kept clean and exfoliated. Use a good, gentle exfoliator and gently massage face in slow, circular motions. This facial massage will ensure good blood circulation while exfoliation will remove dead skin cells, revealing a bright, new complexion.

2. Keep skin hydrated with a good moisturizer, which should be applied before you put on makeup. For those with dry skin, look for moisturizers containing hyaluronic acid, which imbues skin with an adequate supply of moisture.

3. Get enough sleep. Most people need between seven and nine hours a night.

4. Before you sleep, wash your face and remove your makeup. Forgetting to wash your face and remove your makeup before sleeping will lead to clogged pores and elevate the occurrence of breakouts

5. Eat a wide variety of colorful fruits and vegetables. The nutrients contained in fruits and vegetables help give them their color. So by eating a variety you can be assured of getting the right vitamins.
