Retailers have been ingenious in their ways to mark October as breast cancer awareness month.
Polo Ralph Lauren's Pink Pony online auction is yet another fun and thoroughly glamorous way to raise awareness and funds in support of the fight against cancer, launching its first Pink Pony Online Auction in partnership with luxury charity auction site charitybuzz. Launched in 2000, the Pink Pony Fund supports programs for cancer screening, early diagnosis, treatment, research and patient navigation.
The auction will showcase over 200 unique items and once-in-a-lifetime experiences allowing bidders to step into the world of Ralph Lauren with items ranging from luxury travel, art, sports, fashion and rare collectibles. 100 per cent of net proceeds from this auction will benefit the Pink Pony Fund of The Polo Ralph Lauren Foundation.
This fall, Polo Ralph Lauren will mark a philanthropic milestone with the 10th anniversary of Pink Pony - the Company' s global initiative to raise awareness and funds in support of the fight against cancer. Launched in 2000, the Pink Pony Fund supports programs for cancer screening, early diagnosis, treatment, research and patient navigation.

In the last decade, the Pink Pony Fund has made philanthropic contributions and partnered internationally with some of the world' s leading cancer organizations. In 2003 Polo Ralph Lauren furthered its commitment to the fight against cancer by establishing the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention in Harlem, New York, a unique partnership with Memorial Sloan- Kettering Cancer Center.
