News of gorgeous Hong Kong actress-turned-tai-tai Michelle Reis being pregnant has set the Internet community abuzz. The 40-year-old also posted a recent picture taken of her on her blog, or weibo, showing off her baby bump, after her friends complained of the infrequent updates that she posted about herself.
Previously, the famously svelte celebrity was said to be at odds with her husband's mother for her unwillingness to bear children. But the family were said to be satisfied now that she is in the family way. She and her husband, business tycoon Julian Hui, were said to have begun trying for a child after they wed in 2008.
Contrary to earlier reports, Michelle is having a baby girl, which gave rise to speculation that her husband's family were disappointed about the gender of the baby. Michelle's husband and manager have declined to comment on the matter.
Rumours of her pregnancy first arose in May this year, when she was spotted at a public event in flat-soled shoes. Since then, Hong Kong media have snapped various pictures showing Michelle's growing bump.
She is in her fourth month of pregnancy already. But she remains the envy of her friends and supporters, as she has managed to maintain a slender-looking figure.
