The day that Oei met her husband-to-be was also the first day that Goei met him.

Four years ago, Goei had hosted a dinner party for 14 at his house for CNN presenter Richard Quest.

Oei, 38, and Kwek, 31, hit it off during the party, but didn’t get together until “much later”.

When contacted, Oei said that she didn’t want to talk about her private life.

Two years ago, both husband and wife scored at the Short And Sweet Festival, a three-week showcase of 10-minute plays. Oei won for her directorial debut, I’ll Have The Special, and Kwek won Best Playwright for its screenplay.

Said Goei: “Ken’s a writer so he’s very cerebral. He’s also a very private person. Pam on the other hand is very expressive and bubbly.

“I throw a lot of parties and in a party situation you can tell who are interested in each other. They just had this chemistry.”

Kwek and Oei got hitched last year.
