A TOP-SELLING brand in Hungary and a cult favourite in the UK, the Hungarian organic skincare brand Ilcsi was created by Ilona Molnar (affectionately known as 'Aunt Ilcsi') in 1958, which was inspired by her childhood in rural Hungary growing up with her grandmother who was a village herbalist.

Paraben free and formulated using only natural preservatives, Ilcsi products use thermal waters from the subterranean lake Hajduszoboszlo, famous for its minerals and are made from whole herb, fruit and vegetable pulps instead of extracts.

Its star product is the fantastic Ilcsi Sour Cherry Mask (30ml at $38.56 from Face Tart and 50ml at $69.21/100ml at $138.42 from spa esprit at Beauty Emporium), a sweet smelling gel mask that invigorates your skin as its fructose and fruit acid content nourishes, vitalises, tones, and hydrates while tightening the pores.

Moreover, the gel has strong anti-ageing effects because of the antioxidant bioflavonoids and polyphenols of sour cherry and is so fresh you can even see bits of fruit in it.

  • Ilcsi is available at Face Tart, #B2-24/25 Raffles City Shopping Centre and spa esprit at Beauty Emporium 8D Dempsey Road, 2nd level
